For our location in Takeley, Essex (United Kingdom) we are looking for a

Finance Assistant Credit Control (m/f)

full time, fix term (6 month; with the possibility but not the guarantee of a permanent position thereafter)

 

The Credit Controller is responsible for managing the debts of a business. A Credit Controller oversees all debts owed to a company from existing debtors and manages new requests for credit. The day-to-day duties of the Credit Controller are varied and include ensuring timely payments are made by debtors, processing incoming funds, reconciling invoices, resolving account queries and managing debt recovery.

A Credit Controller is also involved in evaluating new credit requests, including checking credit ratings, deciding whether to allow credit to a debtor and advising on credit limits. The Credit Controller is a key figure in supporting the financial function of a business.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Taking a proactive role in managing and collecting debts of company debtors both for Genewiz in the UK as well as for its German and French ledgers
  • Reviewing customer accounts and eliminating errors leading to non-payment of outstanding amounts
  • Setting up of terms and conditions of credit
  • Ensuring timely payment of debts
  • Negotiating re-payment plans
  • Responding to relevant client enquiries
  • Processing and reconciliation of invoices
  • Checking and posting of receipts to accounting systems
  • Preparation of statements, client status reports and all relevant information as required
  • Providing reports and analysis on debtors to the Accounting manager at Brooks and, as requested, to Genewiz management
  • Providing administrative support to the team

 

Your profile

  • Outstanding attention to detail with an ability to reconcile complex accounts
  • Accurate, efficient and organised with the ability to prioritise tasks as needed
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office and accountancy software – preferably NetSuite
  • Ability to maintain strong relationships with external clients and internal colleagues
  • Professional, confident and diplomatic when liaising with others
  • Possible qualification of CICM
